NTP Servers

Faelix makes NTP servers available to the Internet via the NTP Pool (NTP Pool statistics for Faelix). Unless you intend to distribute time to a network of at least 10 end-users/clients, please use the NTP Pool.

Public

If you wish to use Faelix's public NTP servers directly, you must follow these rules:

• not for end-user devices — only NTP servers that distribute time to end-users/clients are permitted to synchronise with Faelix's public servers!
• do not use burst (use iburst instead)
• ensure minpoll is set to 6 or above (64 seconds)
• please send a notification email to timelords at faelix.net
• optionally, please join the NTP Pool

Faelix makes some additional NTP servers available to select organisations:

• Faelix customers with IP addresses in 193.142.245.0/24
• Bytemark and customers in 80.68.80.0/20 and 89.16.160.0/19
• UK Grid and customers in 89.107.16.0/21 and 89.21.0.0/19
• National Monitoring and customers in 91.103.176.0/21

If you are within one of these networks and wish to use Faelix's NTP servers directly, you must follow these rules:

• may be used for end-user devices within the authorised netblocks
• do not use burst (use iburst instead)
• ensure minpoll is set to 6 or above (64 seconds)
